Omsk-Fyodorovka Airport's $700M Expansion Moves Closer to 2028 Launch
Omsk-Fyodorovka Airport is moving forward with its expansion plans, including a new four-story terminal and supporting infrastructure. The project, estimated at 64.6 billion rubles (around $700 million), recently saw a tender for engineering and geological surveys with a starting price of 823,000 rubles (approximately $9,000). The tender for technical support at the airport attracted five bidders: Ob-Irtysh Hydrometeorological Service, Veles, Lengiprorechtrans, Omsk Regional Energy (OGRÉ), and Siberian Scythia. Siberian Scythia won the contract by undercutting the lot price by 10%, reducing it to 740,700 rubles. Bids were accepted until noon on March 27, with all work to be completed by April 30.
The airport's master plan includes a four-story concrete hotel on a pile foundation, listed as a future prospect, alongside a terminal for domestic and international flights, control towers, and other key facilities. The Khvoya architectural bureau was linked to the project in a 2026 RBC Omsk article, though no specific design role has been confirmed. Construction began after Omsk regional authorities signed a concession agreement with Airports of Regions in 2024. The first flight from the new airport is scheduled for December 25, 2028.
The expansion of Omsk-Fyodorovka Airport continues with survey work underway and a clear timeline for completion. The project remains on track for its 2028 opening, with key infrastructure and facilities planned to support both domestic and international travel.
