Omsk launches 606M-ruble tender to repair crumbling highway stretch by 2027
Omsk is preparing for major road repairs along a key stretch of the Omsk–Russkaya Polyana highway. The city has launched a tender for a 15-kilometre section between the 128th and 143rd kilometres, with work set to begin as soon as a contractor is chosen. Mayor Sergei Shelist confirmed that preparations for the summer roadwork season are already underway.
The condition of this highway section has worsened in recent years. Inspections by Rosavtodor between 2023 and 2025 showed a 25–30% decline in pavement quality, with deeper potholes, wider cracks, and higher roughness levels. The deterioration has prompted urgent action.
The Omsk Region Contract System Directorate has opened bidding for the repair project, with an estimated contract value of nearly 606 million rubles. Companies can submit proposals until March 11, and the winner will be announced on March 16.
Once the contract is signed, repairs must finish by October 15, 2027. The work will include warranty coverage for road signs, markings, guideposts, barriers, and traffic lights. The lower asphalt layer will carry a five-year warranty, the upper layer four years, and the roadbed and base six years.
The project aims to restore a heavily damaged section of the Omsk–Russkaya Polyana route. Contractors will have until mid-October 2027 to complete the upgrades. The extended warranties on different road layers suggest a focus on long-term durability.
