Omsk Region raises public transport fares with new distance-based pricing
Omsk Region has updated its public transport fares, with new prices for suburban trains and city buses taking effect from March 1, 2023. The changes include adjusted rates for distance-based travel and additional payment options for passengers seeking extra comfort.
The revised fare structure sets the cost of a direct trip from Moskva Station to Danichenko Platform within Omsk city limits at 45 rubles. For journeys spanning the first 15 kilometres across the region, the price remains the same, with each additional kilometre charged at 3.17 rubles. Passengers choosing comfort-class carriages will now pay an extra 50 rubles on top of the standard fare.
Season tickets for regular commuters will still be available, helping to reduce long-term travel expenses. All existing federal and regional fare discounts have been retained, ensuring continued affordability for eligible passengers.
To improve ticketing efficiency, Omsk's city administration is expanding its network of validators. An extra 60 buses, trolleybuses, and trams will soon be fitted with the devices. Before March 2026, the city had already equipped 450 buses, 120 trolleybuses, and 200 trams with similar systems.
The updated fares aim to balance cost and convenience for Omsk's public transport users. With season tickets, discounts, and expanded validator coverage, the changes seek to maintain accessibility while introducing minor adjustments for distance and comfort options.
