Omsk to Build 1.2-Kilometre Toll Bridge Over Om River by 2026
Omsk has begun active preparations for the construction of a toll bridge across the Om River, set to launch in spring 2026. The bridge will connect Razdolnaya Street to 1st Zarechnaya Street, and its location appears to have been chosen for a reason. According to SuperOmsk's observations, the new structure will be built on what is essentially a foundation left over from Soviet times—this site once hosted a ferry crossing.
Photographs show that the only remnants of the previously demolished wooden structure are the stone-paved bases for the bridge supports. Another vestige of the Soviet era is the prepared embankment along the shore.
Recall that in summer 2024, a concession agreement was signed for the project, with an estimated investment of around 1.6 billion rubles. The bridge will be toll-based. In addition to the 1.2-kilometer span, plans include constructing a section of road near 2nd Uchkhoznaya Street. Several land plots have been acquired for the project, and multiple public easements—allowing land use without formal acquisition—have been secured for a 10-year term. The bridge is expected to open in 2026.
