Leopard Cub Rescued From Riverside Bushes In Dhar; Shifted To Van Vihar, Bhopal, For Specialised Treatment

Orphaned leopard cub rescued and rushed to Van Vihar National Park

A female leopard cub was rescued on Sunday after villagers spotted it near a riverbank in Benchkunwa village, Dhar district. The animal, found weak and alone, was quickly taken in by forest officials for urgent care.

The cub was discovered in the Umarban sub-range of the Dhamnod forest area. Villagers alerted the forest department, prompting a rescue team from the Dhamnod forest range to intervene. After an initial examination at the local forest office, veterinary doctors confirmed the cub needed specialised attention.

Efforts to reunite the cub with its mother failed, leaving no option but to relocate it. It was then transported to Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal for further treatment. Wildlife experts and veterinarians are now providing round-the-clock supervision as the cub undergoes intensive care.

The cub remains under constant observation at Van Vihar National Park. Its condition is being closely monitored by a team of specialists. The forest department continues to oversee its recovery process.
