Marine Port Ayan Accepts First Vessel in Summer Navigation

Remote Alaskan district receives vital supplies after weather delays

The SPP-020 cargo vessel arrived at Ayan’s seaport on June 7, officially launching the summer navigation season. Operated by Rybodobyvayushchaya Artel Rybnoye Delo LLC, the ship delivered over 80 tons of essential goods to the remote district. Local officials confirmed the supplies would help fill a recent shortage of fresh produce and staples. Before reaching Ayan, the vessel spent nearly a week anchored near Nikolayevsk-on-Amur. Poor weather conditions delayed its departure, forcing the crew to wait for safer sailing conditions. Once underway, the journey proceeded without further issues.

The cargo included fresh vegetables, fruit, confectionery, groceries, and other vital supplies. A portion of the shipment will be transported onward to the nearby village of Nelkan. Sergei Alberтовsky, head of the Ayan-Maysky District, noted that the delivery brought much-needed quality products after a period of limited stock. Local authorities and logistics teams are now tracking weather forecasts closely. Their goal is to streamline future trips and prevent supply disruptions over the coming months. The next scheduled delivery to Ayan is expected in two weeks, provided conditions remain favourable.

The arrival of the SPP-020 ensures Ayan and surrounding areas have access to fresh goods after weeks of delays. With another shipment planned for late June, officials are working to maintain steady deliveries throughout the summer. Weather will remain the key factor in keeping the supply chain on track.
