Rennbahn Bridges construction enters critical phase with May closures

Construction work on the Rennbahn Bridges is progressing swiftly. As part of the ongoing project, temporary support scaffolding—necessary for the bridge superstructure—will be installed during the first half of May. As a result, partial closures and traffic diversions will be required on the weekends of May 1–3 (toward Gimritzer Damm) and May 8–10, 2026 (outbound toward Eisleben). Only the roadway beneath the bridges will be closed; traffic on the main route between Neustadt and Halle—including access to the B 80—will remain unaffected throughout the work.

Alternative routes are currently being finalized and will be announced by the city in advance, with details also available in the construction schedule.

The entire bridge project is expected to be completed in spring 2027.
