Rhinebahn strike on March 20 disrupts trams and buses for students and commuters

A depot will be struck all day, leading to the complete cancellation of bus routes 647 and 649 for the entire day. Routes 627 and 637, however, are expected to operate as scheduled. Additionally, several electric trams—primarily used for student transport to Velbert—will not run. Affected schools have already been notified. Up-to-date information on WSW services is available online.

Rhinebahn Services Also Affected

A depot strike will also disrupt Rhinebahn operations. As a result, all electric trams from Wülfrath to Waldschlösschen Comprehensive School will be canceled on March 20. Details on the Rhinebahn strike can be found online.

Exceptions

Some student services will run as usual: Morning and midday electric trams between Waldschlösschen Comprehensive School and the central bus station (ZOB) will operate on schedule, as will a midday tram to Nierenhof. Bus routes operated by the Bergische Verkehrsgesellschaft (BVR) and other regional services (OV lines) remain unaffected and will run normally.
