Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin hits $1.5B milestone with AI-powered payments
Ripple's stablecoin, RLUSD, has reached new milestones in adoption and regulatory compliance. A recent attestation confirms the stablecoin remains overcollateralised and fully backed by secure assets. Meanwhile, AI-driven payment systems are now using RLUSD for autonomous transactions on the XRP Ledger. Deloitte's latest verification report, covering February 2026, confirms that RLUSD is fully backed by highly liquid and secure reserves. The attestation also states that Ripple's proprietary funds remain entirely separate from the assets securing RLUSD. This compliance aligns with New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) regulations.
The stablecoin's market value stood at $1,568,986,016 as of February 27, with 1,495,023,851 RLUSD units in circulation. However, trading volume has since dipped to $1.43 billion. Despite this, RLUSD has expanded its reach with new listings on iTrustCapital, HashKey Exchange, Ripio, and Bitkub. Standard Custody CEO Jack McDonald has noted RLUSD's growing role in global financial systems. The stablecoin is now being adopted by firms like Baco Genial, Nomad, and Attrus to improve payment efficiency. Additionally, AI agents can now execute autonomous payments using RLUSD on the XRP Ledger through the t54ai x402 facilitator.
RLUSD continues to gain traction in both traditional and decentralised finance. Its regulatory compliance and reserve backing provide a foundation for wider adoption. With AI-powered payments and new exchange listings, the stablecoin is positioning itself as a key player in digital transactions.
