Russia's gasoline prices surge in April 2026 with Magadan leading the spike

Gasoline prices climbed across Russia in April 2026, with some regions seeing sharper increases than others. The Magadan Region recorded the highest costs, while Yakutia and Crimea also featured prominently in the rankings. Overall, fuel expenses continued to rise compared to both the previous month and the same period last year. The Magadan Region led the country with the most expensive gasoline in April 2026. Close behind were the Kamchatka Territory and the Sakhalin Region. Yakutia followed in fourth place, where drivers paid an average of 78.77 rubles per litre.

The Republic of Crimea moved up five spots to fifth in the rankings. Meanwhile, the Jewish Autonomous Region entered the top 10 for the first time, replacing the Primorsky Territory.

Price increases varied across the country. In 43 regions, gasoline became at least 0.6% more expensive. The Chechen Republic and Crimea experienced the steepest rises, with hikes of 3.0% and 2.8% respectively.

Diesel fuel also saw notable price shifts. Yakutia ranked third for diesel costs, behind Kamchatka and Sakhalin. Despite fluctuations, Yakutia remained in the top five for both gasoline and diesel expenses. Russia’s gasoline price index reached 100.6% in April 2026 compared to March, and 112.3% compared to April 2025. The data highlights ongoing upward pressure on fuel costs, particularly in remote and eastern regions. Drivers in these areas continue to face the highest expenses at the pump.
