Russia's Superjet 100 Clears Factory Tests for Mass Production
Russia’s Superjet 100 aircraft is now prepared for full-scale production. The jet, entirely built with domestic components, has reached a key milestone after years of development. The first production model of the Superjet 100 has finished factory testing. This step confirms its readiness for mass manufacturing. Meanwhile, 26 of the 42 ordered aircraft are already in various assembly stages.
The project relies on Russia’s PD-8 engine, which has proven its reliability under harsh conditions. Engineers designed the engine to withstand extreme temperatures and operational stress. Certification for the entire aircraft is set for August 2026. Once certified, the Superjet 100 will enter service as Russia’s first fully homegrown passenger jet. The completion of factory tests and ongoing assembly work mark steady progress toward this goal. The PD-8 engine’s performance further supports the aircraft’s readiness for commercial use.
