RVB Group's bold acquisitions reshape Russia's transport and logistics market

RVB Group has expanded its transport and logistics operations in recent years through key acquisitions. In 2023, the company purchased taxi and freight services previously owned by People&People. The move has since boosted its market share in Russia's delivery and transport sectors.

However, earlier reports of a potential deal for Azur Air were denied by the airline itself, leaving RVB's tourism ambitions unclear.

In 2023, RVB Group finalised the acquisition of Citymobil, Taksovichkof, and Gruzovichkof from People&People. The deal, confirmed by People&People owner Igor Rudzkiy, aimed to strengthen RVB's rapid-delivery network across over 100 cities. The financial details of the transaction were not made public.

By early 2026, the acquisitions had paid off. Data from Rosstat and RBC showed RVB holding a 25-30% share in Russia's passenger and light cargo transport market. This placed the company ahead of Yandex.Taxi's 20-22% in ride-hailing but behind SberLogistics, which dominated broader logistics with 35-40%. Separately, in March 2023, media reports suggested RVB was negotiating to buy Azur Air, a move that would have expanded its tourism division. When contacted by Forbes, RVB declined to comment. Azur Air's press service later dismissed the claims, stating no talks were taking place.

The 2023 purchase of Citymobil, Taksovichkof, and Gruzovichkof has solidified RVB's position in Russia's transport sector. The company now leads in passenger and light cargo services but faces strong competition in logistics.

Meanwhile, the denied Azur Air deal leaves RVB's tourism strategy uncertain for now.
