Sagent appoints Chris Marshall as CEO to accelerate Dara's mortgage tech expansion

Sagent has named Chris Marshall as its new CEO, effective from 5 January. The company also announced that its Dara mortgage servicing platform will now be rolled out on a larger scale. Marshall will take over day-to-day operations while continuing as board Chairman.

Marshall brings decades of experience to the role. He previously held leadership positions at Mr. Cooper, Ally Bank, Fifth Third Bank, and Bank of America. His most recent role was Vice Chairman and President of Mr. Cooper, one of the largest US mortgage servicers.

Dara is a cloud-based platform designed for real-time mortgage servicing. It combines data, AI, and user experience across core, consumer, and default servicing. The system aims to cut operational costs, ensure compliance, and integrate open-API ecosystems with unified data and AI tools.

By February 2026, three major US mortgage servicers—Mr. Cooper, Freedom Mortgage, and Lakeview Loan Servicing—had either adopted or announced plans to use Dara. Marshall will oversee its wider deployment while working closely with customers and prospects.

Current CEO Geno Paluso will transition to Vice Chairman and serve as a senior advisor. He will support Marshall and the executive team during the handover period.

Marshall's appointment marks a shift in Sagent's leadership as the company pushes for broader adoption of Dara. The platform is already in use by some of the largest mortgage servicers in the US. His dual role as CEO and board Chairman will guide both strategy and daily operations moving forward.
