Nearly 2,900 Statements on the State Development Plan - Saxony-Anhalt's new development plan takes shape ahead of state elections
Saxony-Anhalt is finalising its new state development plan before the upcoming elections. The document will shape future land use, covering energy, transport, industry, and conservation. Nearly 2,900 responses from authorities and the public have been submitted for review.
The Ministry of Infrastructure is currently examining all feedback to decide if further changes are required. Most submissions focused on key areas like energy supply, raw material security, nature protection, and transport networks.
The final version of the plan will outline where industrial zones and wind turbines in forests can be built. However, the exact number and locations of these sites have not yet been specified. Minister Lydia Hüskens has set a deadline of late June to complete the process.
Once approved, the plan will guide land use decisions across Saxony-Anhalt. It will influence where industries expand, how energy is generated, and which areas remain protected. The finalised document is expected before the state elections take place.
