Sberbank's AI Agent Cuts Job Interview Wait Times from 23 to 3 Hours
Sberbank has introduced an AI-powered agent to handle preliminary job interviews. The system aims to speed up hiring while keeping a personal touch. Since its launch, the agent has already conducted over 130,000 interviews in early 2026. The AI agent now manages the early stages of recruitment at Sberbank. It reviews resumes, creates tailored interview questions, and holds conversations with applicants. After each session, it produces a detailed report for hiring teams.
Previously, the time between an application and the first screening took around 23 hours. With the AI system, this has dropped to just three hours. The technology also reduces workload for recruiters, speeds up feedback for candidates, and improves their overall experience.
Anna Ovchinnikova, Senior Managing Director and Head of Talent Acquisition at Sberbank, highlighted how AI is reshaping recruitment. The bank’s next steps include refining the agent’s conversation scripts and adding automated interview scheduling. Additionally, a new AI assistant will soon help hiring managers with vacancy briefings. The AI agent boosts efficiency and scalability in Sberbank’s hiring process. It cuts down screening time, supports recruiters, and maintains a candidate-focused approach. Further updates will expand its role in streamlining recruitment tasks.
