Schiphol Airport is expanding its parking with a new long-stay car park. The P3 facility will add nearly 18,000 spaces, half of them under cover. Construction has begun, with completion expected by mid-2027.
The new garage will sit next to the existing P3 parking structure and bus stop. This location allows travellers a short walk to the free electric shuttle that connects to the terminal. The design includes six levels, a wooden exterior, and an energy-positive roof fitted with over 9,000 solar panels.
Sustainability plays a key role in the project. Builders will use low-carbon concrete and recycled materials throughout. Electrical equipment and eco-friendly methods have also been integrated into the construction process.
Once finished, the garage will become the largest parking facility in the Netherlands. It will provide more than 4,000 additional sheltered spaces, increasing capacity for long-stay visitors.
The expanded P3 car park is set to open in mid-2027. Its solar-powered roof and sustainable materials aim to reduce environmental impact. The facility will offer travellers more covered parking and easy access to terminal transport.
