Singapore's major bus service upgrades to launch in March 2026

Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) has revealed breaking news bus service upgrades under the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP). The changes, set to roll out from March 2026, will introduce fresh routes and extend existing ones. These adjustments follow earlier expansions that have already benefited thousands of daily commuters.

The BCEP began in July 2024, bringing 27 new or extended services and tweaks to 62 existing routes. Around 244,000 passengers now use these improved connections every day.

From 8 March 2026, a new feeder service, Service 831, will start operating within Tengah. Services 97 and 97e will also extend from Jurong East to Tengah, while Service 181 will stretch from Jurong West to the same area. These changes aim to improve access for residents in the growing estate.

For Tampines, Service 460 will offer a faster link between Tampines Boulevard and Tampines MRT station. In the north, Service 461 will connect Yishun East with Khatib MRT station. A new City Direct Service, 684, will run between Brickland, Bukit Batok West and the Central Business District, catering to commuters heading to work.

Three peak-hour services—457, 458 and 459—will launch to serve Hougang, Sengkang and Punggol. These routes will provide direct access to the Circle Line and the Tai Seng employment hub, cutting travel time for workers.

The latest BCEP news will expand transport options for residents in Tengah, Jurong, Hougang, Sengkang and Punggol. With new feeder services, extended routes and direct connections to key areas, the changes are designed to ease daily commutes. The adjustments take effect from March 2026, following earlier improvements made since mid-2024.
