Sochi's Mamaika Pass highway repairs resume under 2027 upgrade plan
Repairs have restarted on a vital stretch of the Mamaika Pass highway in Sochi. The work is part of a wider state contract that will also upgrade bus stops and improve road safety for drivers and pedestrians alike.
Federal road service teams are now focusing on the Dzhubga-Sochi motorway, particularly the 47–50 kilometre section between the Ira River and the Mamaika interchange. This project falls under a long-term state agreement set to run until 2027.
Alongside the main carriageway, crews will repair damaged barriers, pavements and kerb stones. The upgrades aim to make the route safer and more reliable for regular traffic.
In addition, 11 bus stop shelters along the highway will be replaced. The new structures are designed to offer better protection and comfort for both local residents and tourists travelling through the area.
The ongoing repairs cover a busy stretch of highway that connects key areas in and around Sochi. Once completed, the improvements will include a smoother road surface, restored safety features and upgraded waiting areas at bus stops. All work is scheduled for final delivery by 2027 under the state's current contract.
