Sochi's suburban rail network expands with 15 new daily train pairs ahead of tourist season
Sochi's suburban rail network has expanded with 15 new daily train pairs. The changes come ahead of the busy tourist season, aiming to improve travel for visitors and locals alike. More frequent services have already cut waiting times on key routes. The biggest boost comes on the Central Sochi–Sirius route, where 13 extra train pairs now run each day. This increase has slashed the average wait from 38.5 to 26 minutes. At peak times, trains now depart as often as every six minutes.
The Sirius–Rosa Khutor line has also seen improvements, with two additional train pairs added. Passengers on this route now face an average wait of about 1 hour and 21 minutes. Overall, daily train services across Sochi have risen from 39 to 54. The expanded timetable aims to ease congestion and make the resort region more accessible for travellers.
The new schedule reduces delays and increases capacity for tourists and residents. With shorter intervals and more connections, the rail network is now better prepared for the upcoming season. Officials expect the changes to improve transport reliability across the area.
