Swiss Air Lines Welcomes Second Airbus A350, Expanding Global Flights
Swiss International Air Lines has expanded its fleet with a second Airbus A350, named Delémont. The new aircraft will soon take to the skies, marking a key step in the airline's long-haul modernisation.
The airline's latest A350 will make its first passenger flight on February 23, flying from Zurich to Montreal. This follows the arrival of the first A350 in Swiss's fleet, part of a broader upgrade plan.
Later this year, the carrier will also refresh the cabins of its existing Airbus A330 long-haul fleet. The improvements aim to enhance passenger comfort across routes.
By early 2026, Swiss expects to operate 20 Airbus A350s—12 A350-900s delivered by the end of 2024 and another eight in 2025. The airline has ordered a total of 10, signalling a major shift in its long-haul operations.
From summer 2026, the A350 will serve new routes to Boston and Seoul. These additions will expand Swiss's network while offering updated amenities to travellers.
The introduction of the A350 strengthens Swiss's position in long-haul travel. With cabin upgrades and new routes planned, the airline is set to offer improved services in the coming years. The fleet expansion reflects a clear focus on modernising its operations.
