Toulouse-Blagnac Airport struggles with 2.8% passenger drop in 2025

Toulouse-Blagnac Airport experienced a 2.8% decline in passenger numbers in 2025, with total figures falling to 7.6 million, a 21% drop from pre-pandemic levels. Low-cost airlines, such as EasyJet, JetBlue, and Southwest, now account for half of all passenger traffic at the airport.

EasyJet's closure of its Toulouse base in spring 2025 led to a significant reduction in its network, with routes cut from 20 to just 10 destinations. Domestic flights, excluding those to Paris, decreased by nearly 8% compared to the previous year. International travel also saw a 2.7% overall decrease in 2025, with European routes falling by 4.8%. Meanwhile, the Toulouse-Paris route showed some recovery, with passenger numbers rising by 1.8%. Higher aviation ticket taxes in France further dampened demand across the board.

The airport's passenger count now stands at 7.6 million, reflecting adjustments by airlines like American Airlines, United Airlines, and Southwest, as well as broader economic pressures. While some routes, like Toulouse-Paris, have rebounded slightly, overall traffic remains significantly lower than before the pandemic. The shift in airline operations and rising costs continue to shape travel patterns at the airport.
