Ukraine's New MORRIGAN Drone Strikes Deep Behind Russian Lines
Ukraine’s military has stepped up drone attacks on Russian supply lines in occupied southern regions. A new domestically built strike drone, named MORRIGAN, is now targeting logistics networks far behind enemy positions. The 412th Nemesis Brigade developed the system to disrupt Russian operations in contested areas. The MORRIGAN is a fixed-wing drone designed for deep strikes against rear-area targets. Its primary role involves intercepting Russian military transport, including trucks moving along key routes like the R-280 highway. Footage released by the Nemesis Brigade shows successful attacks on convoys linking occupied cities in southern Ukraine.
The drone has also been deployed in Crimea, where it struck Russian air defence and support installations. Its manoeuvrability allows it to evade detection while hitting critical infrastructure. As part of Ukraine’s expanding middle-strike capabilities, MORRIGAN joins other systems aimed at weakening Russian supply chains.
Ukrainian forces have increasingly focused on severing logistics corridors in occupied territories. By targeting transport hubs and highways, the drone operations aim to limit the flow of military equipment and personnel to frontline units. The introduction of MORRIGAN marks a shift in Ukraine’s drone warfare strategy. Its ability to strike deep behind Russian lines has already disrupted key supply movements. The system’s continued use could further strain Moscow’s logistics in the occupied south.
