United Airlines debuts Boeing 787-9 with Elevated luxury cabins on long-haul routes

United Airlines has opened bookings for its first Boeing 787-9 featuring the upgraded Elevated cabin, the carrier announced. The aircraft will operate its first commercial long-haul flight from San Francisco to Singapore on April 22, followed by a second route from San Francisco to London on April 30.

The new cabin includes eight Polaris Studio Suites in business class, each equipped with fully flat-bed seats, a 27-inch OLED screen, and additional space for a companion.

In total, the plane offers 99 premium seats. By the end of 2027, at least 30 Boeing 787-9s with the Elevated configuration are expected to be in service.
