Vladivostok boosts road safety with barriers, cameras and smarter traffic flow

Vladivostok is upgrading road safety with new barriers, cameras, and traffic delineators. The measures aim to reduce accidents and improve traffic flow across key areas of the city. Work is already underway, with some projects nearing completion by the weekend. Over 160 metres of road barriers have been placed along Tretya Rabochaya Street. These barriers prevent pedestrians and drivers from crossing at unsafe locations, cutting down on potential collisions. The installation followed coordination with the State Traffic Inspectorate to target known accident hotspots.

At the intersection of Imanskaya and Komsomolskaya streets, crews are fitting traffic delineators to separate lanes and block dangerous manoeuvres. The work is set to finish by the end of the upcoming weekend. These delineators will also help increase road capacity by organising traffic more efficiently. In addition, the city is rolling out photo and video enforcement cameras. The new systems will monitor compliance with traffic rules, aiming to improve driver discipline and further reduce risks on the roads.

The combined measures—barriers, delineators, and cameras—are designed to make Vladivostok’s streets safer. Drivers and pedestrians will face fewer hazards as the city enforces stricter traffic controls. Completion of the Imanskaya-Komsomolskaya intersection upgrades is expected within days.
