Vladivostok's beaches undergo major cleanup ahead of summer swimming season
Vladivostok’s beaches are getting ready for the summer swimming season. Cleanup efforts have begun across the city’s coastal areas, with workers and volunteers removing waste from both land and sea. On Sunday, divers and volunteers cleared the seabed of Akhlystysheva Bay of household rubbish. Meanwhile, employees from the municipal enterprise Green Vladivostok started tidying the beach near Kanal settlement on Russky Island on June 9. Heavy machinery and manual labour are being used to shift debris.
Later this week, crews will focus on Steklyannaya and Lazurnaya bays. The city is also installing trash bins along the shoreline to keep the beaches clean throughout the season. Local businesses leasing coastal areas have agreed to support the cleanup alongside city services. Authorities in Primorsky Krai have already listed the specific bays and capes where swimming will be allowed within the Vladivostok urban district.
The coordinated effort aims to ensure safe and clean beaches for residents and visitors. With waste removal underway and new bins in place, the city is preparing for the official start of the swimming season. Businesses and municipal teams will continue working together to maintain the shoreline.
