Vladivostok's busiest intersection gets new road markings for safer traffic

A major intersection in Vladivostok has received fresh road markings to improve traffic flow and safety. The upgrade at Russkaya Street and 100th Anniversary of Vladivostok Avenue follows last year’s reconstruction, which separated lanes to ease congestion. Authorities are now urging drivers to pay close attention to the new layout. Specialists from the municipal road service Urban Territory Maintenance started the marking work last evening. The team completed the task overnight, ensuring minimal disruption to daily traffic. The new lines are designed to help motorists select the correct lanes more easily.

This intersection is known as one of the most complicated in the city. The recent changes build on last year’s reconstruction, which aimed to streamline movement and reduce accidents. Road crews have also been active elsewhere in Vladivostok, refreshing nearly 100 kilometres of centreline markings and repainting over 6,500 square metres of pedestrian crosswalks since January.

The remaining adjustments to the interchange approaches will take place tonight. Officials stress that the updated markings are a key step toward better safety and smoother travel on this busy stretch. Drivers are reminded to follow the new intersection rules carefully. This includes obeying traffic lights, road signs, and the freshly painted lane markings. The changes are part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety and efficiency across Vladivostok’s roads.
