Vladivostok's CHP-1 undergoes major boiler upgrade ahead of summer repairs
Major overhaul work is underway at Vladivostok CHP-1, where one of the boilers is being upgraded by Primorskye Teplovye Seti. The project involves replacing a 400-metre section of the heating network, with preparations already in full swing ahead of the June start date. Hydraulic tests on the heating networks connected to Vladivostok CHP-1 began on May 18 and will run until May 25. These checks ensure the system is ready before the main work commences. Meanwhile, all necessary materials, including 13.6 tons of coil assemblies for the BKZ-76-16M boiler unit No. 3, have been delivered to the plant.
The upgrade will see the replacement of old, worn heating surfaces, as confirmed by Andrey Krishchenko, head of the repair department at Primorskye Teplovye Seti. The new section of the network will increase in diameter from 720 mm to 1,020 mm, improving capacity. All equipment being installed is Russian-made. From June 2 to August 26, hot water supply will be temporarily restricted in parts of the Frunzensky, Leninsky, and Pervorechensky districts. The disruption is necessary to complete the replacement of the single-pipe heating network.
The project aims to modernise a critical section of the heating infrastructure, with the new network designed to enhance efficiency. Residents in affected areas have been notified of the temporary hot water restrictions, which will last until late August. The upgrades are expected to improve long-term reliability for the district’s heating supply.
