Vorkuta-Moscow train reintroduces seated carriages in April 2026
A seated carriage service on the Vorkuta-Moscow passenger train is set to return next year. The decision follows repeated requests from travellers who rely on the route. Officials have confirmed daily departures starting in early April 2026. The Ministry of Transport of the Komi Republic, alongside the Northern Railway and transport firm AO 'FPK', agreed to reinstate the service. Their move comes after growing passenger demand for better connectivity on the long-distance line.
From 1 April 2026, the interregional carriage will depart Kotlas every day. The following day, 2 April, daily services will also begin from Vorkuta. The carriage will operate as part of train No. 375/376, offering seated accommodation for those travelling between the Arctic city and the capital. No details have been released about additional steps to enhance passenger comfort or satisfaction on this route. The focus remains on restoring the basic service after its suspension.
The resumption of the carriage aims to meet the needs of regular travellers between Vorkuta and Moscow. Daily departures from both directions will start in the first week of April 2026. Authorities have not announced further upgrades beyond the return of the seated option.
