VTB strengthens Russia-China trade ties with new cross-border solutions at Harbin EXPO
VTB took part in the 10th Russia-China EXPO, held in Harbin from May 17 to 21. The bank acted as both a sponsor and an exhibitor, presenting its latest solutions for cross-border trade. During the event, VTB highlighted new tools designed to help Russian businesses expand into the Chinese market. At the EXPO, VTB showcased services aimed at simplifying foreign economic activity. These included consultations on secure and profitable operations between Russia and China. The bank also demonstrated how its technology ensures compliance with legal requirements in both countries.
Julia Kopytova, VTB’s Senior Vice President and Head of Analysis, Coordination, and Product Development, announced significant growth in the bank’s database. The number of Chinese supplier profiles available to Russian small and medium-sized businesses has increased fivefold in under six months. The service now lists over 2,500 Chinese companies actively seeking partnerships with Russian firms.
Speed, transparency, and access to current information were emphasised as critical for Russian entrepreneurs. VTB’s end-to-end document verification system was presented as a key feature, reducing delays and ensuring smooth transactions. China remains one of Russia’s most important trade partners, making these developments particularly relevant for businesses looking to expand. The expanded database and advanced verification tools aim to streamline trade between Russian and Chinese companies. VTB’s participation in the EXPO reinforced its commitment to supporting cross-border business growth. The bank’s solutions now provide faster, more reliable connections for entrepreneurs in both markets.
