Wolfsburg bus routes face five weeks of detours starting February 23

Bus services in Wolfsburg will face major changes from late February due to roadworks. Six routes—212, 224, 231, 218, 335, and 383—will be diverted while Rothenfelder Straße undergoes construction. The work is set to last for five weeks, affecting thousands of daily commuters.

The disruption begins on February 23, with the main construction phase running from February 24 to March 28, 2026. During this time, buses will skip the 'Rathaus', 'Mühlenpfad', 'Amtsgericht', and 'C&A' stops. Passengers needing these locations are advised to use nearby alternatives like 'Kaufhof' or 'Imperial' instead.

For those travelling on line 383, an extra stop at 'Stadtwerke' will be added to help ease the impact. Residents relying on the affected stops can also switch to tram lines 80/81, which serve Porschestraße/Im Wendenhang, or lines 700/701, stopping at Fallerslebenstraße. Clear pedestrian signs will guide people around the construction zone.

Local transport authorities have stressed the importance of planning ahead. They recommend checking updated timetables and considering alternative routes where possible.

The roadworks will alter bus services for over a month. Passengers must adjust their journeys, using designated replacement stops or other transport links. The changes aim to keep travel running smoothly while the essential work is completed.
