Yakutsk's new winter shuttle eases train travel across the city
A new shuttle service has launched in Yakutsk to improve winter travel for train passengers. The initiative connects key transport hubs across the city, offering a more convenient way to reach popular destinations. Available since February 7, the service is part of the train transfer cost and aims to ease movement during the cold season.
The shuttle service was announced by Alexey Sokolov, Deputy General Director for Passenger Car Operations. It caters specifically to those travelling on the Nizhny Bestyakh–Yakutsk route. Passengers can now board buses that link them directly to essential stops around the city.
The accessible stops include major locations such as the 203rd and 202nd Microraions, Bogdan Chizhik Street, and Calvin Street. Other key points are the Regional Hospital, the Farmers' Market, and the central bus station. Additional stops cover Lenin Square, the Central Cinema, the Social Services Office, and Larionov Street.
Designed for winter use, the service ensures comfortable travel conditions for both locals and visitors. By integrating the shuttle with train transfers, the city hopes to reduce delays and improve overall transport efficiency during the harsh season.
The new shuttle system runs throughout the winter and is free for train passengers. It connects vital areas of Yakutsk, making daily commutes and visits to important sites easier. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to enhance public transport in the region.
