Yekaterinburg waste collection stays on schedule despite May holiday closures
Waste collection services in Yekaterinburg will run as usual during the May holidays, though some facilities and offices will close. Residents are being reminded of key changes to avoid disruptions, including adjusted opening hours and advance requests for large cleanups.
The regional operator has also issued guidance on reporting overflowing bins and parking restrictions near container sites.
From May 1–3 and May 9–11, all waste management offices and the Spetsavtobaza tire drop-off facility at 3 Posadskaya Street will remain closed. On April 30 and May 8, the central office will shut at 5:00 PM, while branch locations close an hour earlier at 4:00 PM.
Despite the closures, waste collection trucks will continue their daily rounds at apartment block container sites between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM. However, improperly parked vehicles often block access during holidays and weekends, delaying collections. Residents organising community cleanups must submit waste collection requests at least three days before the planned date. For urgent issues, overflowing bins can be reported via the MAX messenger app at +7 (912) 690-07-00 or through the regional operator’s online dispatcher. The call centre remains available daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the toll-free number 8 (800) 775-00-96.
The May holiday schedule means shorter hours for offices and temporary closures at key facilities. Waste collections will proceed, but residents must plan ahead for large cleanups and avoid parking near container sites. Reporting tools and the call centre will stay active to handle service requests during the break.
