A14 motorway faces full weekend closures for major roadworks in May
Major roadworks will disrupt travel on the A14 motorway over the first weekend of May. Both directions between Halle-Trotha and Löbejün will face full closures, with entry ramps also blocked. Drivers are advised to plan ahead as detours will be in place. The first closure begins on Saturday, May 2, at around 2:00 AM. The A14 toward Halle will shut completely between Löbejün and Halle-Trotha, lasting until 11:30 PM. During this time, the entry ramp at Löbejün in the direction of Halle will also be closed. Traffic will be diverted off the motorway at Löbejün and must follow the signed detour (U24) via the L50 to rejoin the A14 at Halle-Trotha.
On Sunday, May 3, the opposite stretch will close. From approximately 2:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the A14 toward Magdeburg will be fully shut between Halle-Trotha and Löbejün. The entry ramp at Halle-Trotha in the direction of Magdeburg will also be blocked. Drivers will be directed off the motorway at Halle-Trotha and must take the marked detour (U5) to return to the A14 at the Löbejün junction. The closures will affect both directions of the A14 over the weekend. Motorists travelling between Halle and Magdeburg should expect delays and follow the official detour routes. Authorities have advised allowing extra time for journeys during these works.
