Abu Dhabi rolls out paid parking in Musaffah to tackle congestion

Abu Dhabi has introduced new paid parking zones in Musaffah, a busy industrial and commercial area. The move is part of a broader plan to expand regulated parking across key locations in the city. Officials say the changes will help ease traffic and improve parking availability. The Integrated Transport Centre, under the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has activated the new zones. These include sectors M7, M8, M9, M14, and M15, adding 10,010 parking spaces to the system. Drivers will now pay Dh2 per hour for standard spots.

Payment can be made through the 'Darb' and 'TAMM' apps, SMS services, or on-site machines. The system also reserves dedicated spaces for People of Determination to ensure better accessibility. Musaffah sees heavy daily traffic from workers and visitors. The new zones aim to reduce congestion, streamline parking searches, and enhance road safety. Authorities believe better parking management will support smoother traffic flow in the area.

The expansion of paid parking is designed to organise public parking use and cut down on congestion. With more structured parking options, officials expect improved mobility and traffic efficiency. The changes also reinforce Abu Dhabi’s efforts to create a more accessible and orderly transport network.
