Baltic fuel prices diverge as Vilnius leads and Tallinn cuts costs
Fuel prices shifted across the Baltic capitals last week, with notable changes in diesel and gasoline costs. By Friday, Vilnius recorded the highest prices for both fuels, while Tallinn offered the lowest. Some cities saw increases, others decreases.
In Riga, diesel prices climbed by 3.4%, reaching 1.814 euros per litre. Gasoline followed a similar trend, rising by 3.3% to 1.894 euros per litre. These increases pushed Riga’s fuel costs higher by the end of the week.
Vilnius experienced a smaller rise in diesel prices, up 2.1% to 1.879 euros per litre—the highest among the three capitals. However, gasoline there dropped by 2.2%, settling at 1.819 euros per litre, still the most expensive in the region. Tallinn stood out with the lowest prices. Diesel fell by 2.7% to 1.755 euros per litre, while gasoline decreased by 1.3% to 1.765 euros per litre. Both figures marked the cheapest rates in the Baltic capitals by Friday.
The week ended with clear price differences across the region. Vilnius topped the list for both diesel and gasoline, while Tallinn remained the most affordable. Riga’s increases contrasted with the declines seen in the other two cities.
