Traffic inspectors and police on a bypass road in the capital uncovered multiple cases of heavy truck drivers refusing to comply with regulations, Liter.kz reports, citing the Transport Ministry.
The first incident occurred on April 12.
"Two Shacman dump trucks refused to undergo weight inspection. Moreover, at the direction of a representative from ARE LLP, the drivers unloaded soil directly onto the roadway. They were attempting to disrupt the inspection and avoid recording the overload," the ministry explained.
Two days later, on April 14, three more Shacman dump trucks also defied inspectors' orders. Police were forced to stop the vehicles and direct them for weighing. The inspection revealed that all three exceeded permissible weight limits.
"A court ruled to detain seven individuals for 15 to 18 days. They were also fined for the overload, and the dump trucks were impounded at a municipal penalty lot," the Transport Ministry noted.
The agency emphasized that oversight of heavy vehicles will continue. Owners of freight trucks were urged to comply with weight regulations and refrain from evading inspections.
