Dubai Taxi and Bolt launch Bolt School for safer student rides

Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has teamed up with Bolt to launch a new school transport service called Bolt School. The initiative aims to provide safer and more convenient rides for students across the city. With over 90% of Dubai’s school zones covered, the service is now live on the Bolt app. The Bolt School service allows parents and guardians to book rides in advance for school drop-offs and pick-ups. A 20% discount applies to scheduled trips within eligible school areas. Each ride is assigned to drivers from Bolt’s Comfort category, ensuring higher vehicle standards. An in-app PIN verification system adds an extra layer of security for every trip.

DTC, which operates a fleet of over 11,000 vehicles, currently holds around 45% of Dubai’s taxi market. In 2025 alone, the company recorded 53 million taxi and limousine trips. CEO Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi highlighted that the launch aligns with DTC’s strategy to expand app-based and specialised mobility services.

Alfalasi also confirmed that the company remains focused on technology-driven solutions. Despite shifting demand patterns, DTC has no plans to reduce its workforce. Instead, the emphasis stays on adapting to new market needs through targeted services. The Bolt School service marks another step in DTC’s push to diversify its transport offerings. With broad coverage and security features, it aims to simplify school commutes for families. The partnership with Bolt further strengthens DTC’s position in Dubai’s evolving mobility sector.
