Police in Geestland halted four oversized and heavy vehicles on the A27 motorway near Loxstedt. The inspections revealed multiple violations of transport permits. All drivers were ordered to stop immediately.
Specially trained officers from Geestland Police Station carried out the checks. They found that two transports had exceeded axle load limits. Another two vehicles broke both axle weight and total weight restrictions.
One lorry was also taken out of service due to a technical fault—a raised hydraulic axle. As a result, none of the inspected vehicles were allowed to continue their journeys. Transport companies must now apply for new permits before resuming operations. Drivers and vehicle owners involved face fines for the violations.
The stopped vehicles failed to meet German regulations for special transports on motorways. These rules set strict limits on axle loads and total weights, with exemptions requiring official approval. Authorities have stressed that compliance with permit conditions is mandatory for all heavy and oversized loads.
