Krasnoyarsk's Solontsy interchange undergoes $20M reconstruction for safer traffic
Major reconstruction is underway at the Solontsy interchange in Krasnoyarsk. The 1.8 billion ruble ($20 million) project aims to upgrade key sections of the busy junction. Crews are working on new infrastructure, including widened lanes and improved pedestrian crossings. The design for the interchange was prepared by Dorproekt LLC. Construction duties were then handed to NBS-Sibir LLC, which is now leading the work on site.
Recent progress includes the removal of old pavement on one of the loop ramps. The base is being reinforced before fresh asphalt-concrete surfacing is laid. Builders have also fully dismantled the pavement on the exit from Solontsy onto the Krasnoyarsk Bypass. A new culvert has been installed along the bypass section. Preparations are now underway for an underground pedestrian crossing. The project also involves widening the overpass to add acceleration and deceleration lanes. Additional upgrades feature barrier fencing, a central divider, sidewalks, and modern street lighting. The full reconstruction is scheduled for completion by autumn 2027.
The 1.8 billion ruble upgrade will bring significant changes to the Solontsy interchange. New lanes, pedestrian facilities, and lighting are set to improve traffic flow and safety. The final handover is expected in late 2027.
