Manner Debuts First Fully Electric Truck for Sustainable Factory Logistics

Austrian confectioner Manner has introduced its first fully electric truck for daily factory logistics. The vehicle, a MAN eTGX, will transport raw materials between production sites in Vienna and Wolkersdorf while cutting emissions and noise pollution along the route. The electric truck will shuttle key ingredients such as nougat and chocolate compounds between the two facilities. Its fixed route allows for optimised charging schedules and reliable operational planning. MAN Truck & Bus, which reported €14.1 billion in revenue in 2025 and employs 32,000 globally, views battery-electric trucks as a practical solution for regional distribution.

Manner aims to reduce transport emissions by using renewable electricity for the vehicle. The company has also secured funding for a second electric tractor unit. Additionally, a 7.5-tonne electric delivery truck will soon join the fleet for urban distribution. The eTGX is part of MAN’s electric HGV range, designed for heavy-duty transport across various applications. Its predictable shuttle service between fixed locations makes it well-suited for sustainable logistics.

The new electric truck supports Manner’s push for a greener supply chain. By replacing diesel vehicles, the company expects lower CO₂ output and reduced noise on its transport routes. Further electric additions to the fleet are planned in the near future.
