Omsk–Muromtsevo highway to undergo major 11-km overhaul by 2027

A major overhaul of the Omsk–Muromtsevo–Sedelnikovo highway is set to begin soon. The Road Management Directorate of Omsk Oblast has opened a tender for the project, which focuses on an 11-kilometre stretch between the 219th and 230th kilometre markers. This section serves as a key route to popular tourist spots in Muromtsevo District, including Lake Lenyovo, Lake Potayennoye, and the Five Lakes (Pyat Ozyor). The tender process is now underway, with contractors invited to submit bids until June 22, 2026. The winning bidder will be announced three days later, on June 25. The maximum starting value of the contract has been capped at 397.3 million rubles.

The selected contractor will face a tight schedule. Work must start immediately after the tender decision and finish by October 15, 2027. If completed on time, tourists could use the refurbished road as early as the following summer. The project involves extensive repairs. Tasks include trimming roadside embankments, restoring shoulders, recycling old asphalt, reinforcing the roadbase, and laying fresh asphalt layers. This section of the highway is vital for accessing some of the region’s most visited natural attractions. Improved road conditions are expected to benefit both locals and holidaymakers heading to the lakes and surrounding areas.

The overhaul aims to upgrade a critical route for tourism in Muromtsevo District. With a budget of up to 397.3 million rubles, the project will enhance road safety and travel conditions. Completion is scheduled for autumn 2027, provided the contractor meets all deadlines.
