Russian Railways debuts seamless train-to-bus route to the Sea of Japan

Russian Railways (RZD) is launching a new multimodal travel route to the Sea of Japan in Primorsky Krai. The service begins on July 17 and will run until August 29, offering passengers a seamless train-to-bus connection. The initiative aims to boost tourism in the region by improving access to coastal destinations. The route starts at Sovetskaya Gavan, passing through Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk, and Ussuriysk before reaching Andreyevka. Travellers can board Train No. 352/351 (Sovetskaya Gavan–Vladivostok) from any of the first three stops. Upon arrival in Ussuriysk, a coordinated bus service takes passengers the rest of the way.

Buses depart daily from Ussuriysk at 7:15 AM, with the return journey leaving from the Volna recreation center in Andreyevka at 12:33 PM. A single ticket covers the entire trip, available for purchase online or at ticket offices. The project is part of wider plans to develop tourism infrastructure in Primorsky Krai.

By 2026, beach areas in Slavyanka and Andreyevka are expected to receive upgrades in time for the summer season. These improvements will complement the new transport links, making the region more accessible for visitors. The new service simplifies travel to the Sea of Japan’s coastline, combining rail and road transport. It will operate until late August, providing an easy connection for tourists and locals alike. Further upgrades to beach facilities are also planned within the next two years.
