Volkswagen's refreshed Caddy debuts with hybrid power and flexible cargo options

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has revealed an updated version of its Caddy range. The refreshed model brings visual tweaks and practical improvements, though sales won't begin until mid-2026. Pre-orders are set to open around the middle of this year. The new Caddy lineup includes cargo and passenger versions, each offered with standard or extended wheelbases. Buyers can choose from multiple variants: Base, Edition, California, Life, and Style. The passenger model seats five to seven people, even in its shorter wheelbase form.

The Caddy Flexible stands out for its adaptability. It can switch from a five-seater passenger vehicle to a two-seater cargo van with a partition. The Cargo Maxi version provides over 3,100 litres of storage space and can tow up to 1,500 kilograms.

Under the bonnet, the Caddy offers gasoline, diesel, or plug-in hybrid powertrains. The hybrid option delivers an all-electric range of up to 122 kilometres. Inside, the cabin now features a larger, freestanding central display.

Externally, the updates include fresh paint colours, redesigned wheels, and a restyled front bumper. Volkswagen highlights the model's versatility, promoting it for both commercial and family use. The revised Caddy will reach customers in mid-2026, with pre-orders opening later this year. Its mix of powertrain options, cargo flexibility, and updated technology aims to appeal to a wide range of buyers. No sales data will be available until after its official launch.
