Germany's First 24/7 Driver Lounge Opens with EV Charging Hub Near Düsseldorf
BK World has opened another fully automated lounge in the new Münchheide V industrial park in Willich. The facility is part of a charging hub located on Akira-Okada-Straße, directly off the A44 highway, on a 45,000-square-meter site. The hub will feature 50 charging stations with a total capacity of 4,600 kilowatts.
The A44 connects the Mönchengladbach area with northern Düsseldorf and serves as a key commuter route between the Lower Rhine region and both major cities. The charging points are available to electric vehicles of all brands. Eight of the stations are operated by U.S. electric car manufacturer Tesla as part of its Supercharger network, while additional charging options are provided by Allego, Electra, and Willich's municipal utility company.
The BK World Lounge, developed in partnership with Tesla, is open to drivers of all vehicle brands. It is accessible to charging customers around the clock and includes a lounge area with restrooms—including an accessible toilet—seating, a coffee machine, and refrigerators stocked with snacks, drinks, and ice cream.
Guests can also use a 24/7 pizza vending machine for hot meals. Adjacent to the lounge is a DHL parcel station, allowing packages to be delivered to the charging hub and picked up while vehicles are being charged. On the opposite side of the A44, additional charging stations are operated by EnBW and EWE Go.
